Integrated loudness (LUFS) is the average loudness of the whole track, measured the way streaming services do (ITU-R BS.1770 / EBU R128). Services turn tracks up or down to a target, so a louder master isn't louder for listeners. It just loses dynamics.
True peak (dBTP) is the highest level of the waveform between samples. Above โ1 dBTP, encoding to AAC or Ogg can add distortion.
Loudness range (LU) is how much the loudness varies over the track. There's no right value: it depends on the genre.
Targets are the services' default settings as published or widely measured in 2026. They can change them, and listeners can change their settings.
